Now let’s make a pact. Let’s imagine we can look into each other’s eyes and promise that when autumn arrives we won’t dress sloppily. Well, if we’re here – me writing and you reading – it’s because we love fashion, and all we need to do is to put on our favourite dress to feel good, so we’ll never be truly dishevelled. Let’s be honest, we understand each other.
The sky outside is a bit greyer, and at work we perform endless routines day after day. We cherish our family, even if keeping up with everything and everyone is a challenge.
It’s when we take refuge in the comfort zone of our daily uniform, perhaps a jacket and trousers; always flawless, nothing to complain about – but we know we can do more.

Sofia Klimkovski, Anneta Popova, and Arnelle Shaniqua are the three talents that photographer Julia Noni shot in the hypnotic spaces of the Oscar Niemeyer International Cultural Centre in Avilès, Principality of Asturias, Spain, designed by the great Brazilian architect himself.
The season’s slogan is clear: Simply Myself, which, mind you, doesn’t mean I just throw on the first thing I find in my wardrobe. Allowing our essence to emerge, on the contrary, means celebrating our appearance, enhancing it for what it is, enabling it to shine. How practical is it to slip into an all-occasion look, sober, discreet, almost invisible? Very, but nothing compared to the pleasure of liking yourself.
Look at Sofia, Anneta and Arnelle: do you think they would have had as much fun during the shoot without that faux-fur blouson worn over a pencil skirt, or without the leather trench coat over the pointed slingbacks? And what about the grey coat encrusted with sequins and the black cape trimmed with leather? Are they merely clothes, and is one piece as good as another? I don’t think so, do you?
One last thing, when you watch the video, pay attention to the music and lyrics as well. The soundtrack was written specifically by composer, model and actress Lily Oakes. While for the voice-over, writer, author and actress Katya Boirand dedicated a poem to the freedom of exploring oneself above all. I’ll transcribe it for you here. In my opinion, it is worth reading carefully and, why not, even reciting it aloud.
